Grill Photographic is an outgrowth of my passion for photography as a medium of expression.  

I consider my images successful if they can transmit to the viewer not just how a location or object appeared, but also a real sense of what it was like to have experienced being there.

For example, with "Yellow Morning", it was my goal to convey the sense of serenity felt at Pete's Lake at sunrise.

The Media

My photographs are printed on thick, matte finish watercolor paper using archival Ultrachrome inks.  This gives them a unique appearance that is more similar to a lithograph or painting than a traditional photograph.  It takes hours, days, and, at times, weeks to generate a finished print that has the color and tonal qualities that I feel recreate the experience of 'being there'.
